Fitting

Up

Being fitted with a hearing aid is not painful.  During the initial visit an ear impression will be taken of your ear for the custom in-the-ear shell or the ear mold.  The procedure takes about five minutes and consists of placing a soft material gently in your ear until the material hardens.  Information will be given on what to expect from a hearing aid.  The adjustment period will be reviewed.

The return visit will consist of the hearing aid fitting.  Booklets on how to operate the hearing aid will be reviewed in detail and your guarantee will be discussed.  The specific procedures that covers putting the hearing aid on, taking if off, changing batteries, and adjusting the switches will be reviewed.  As much time as necessary will be set aside for you to feel comfortable with your hearing aid.
